Former ECAD student trainer FaTye hits the big stage
This is a quote from the below Rivertowns Enterprise article that shows exactly what kind of benefit can come from giving kids that dont always get a chance ..a chance...
"On Sunday, Feb. 12, the performance of “Big River” will benefit Educated Canines Assisting with Disabilities (ECAD), which FaTye was involved with during his time at CV. Lu Picard runs ECAD at Children's Village and worked with FaTye during his early days in Westchester. The program, she says, is designed to help both the dog and the trainer grow. While the animal builds the skills required of a service dog, the child develops a work ethic and sense of accomplishment."

Shiloh's Puppies
Christmas eve they started coming one by one all the way to thirteen healthy Dane/Lab puppies! With their skilled mid-wife Carrie by Shiloh's side over the course of a morning and afternoon these tiny lives with a bright future came into the world!
While momma Shy went out to stretch her legs, the first few puppies waited patiently in their basket for her to come back!
Lu Picard making sure that momma and babies are all doing well, also starting the puppies socialization with people.
A long day one for both Shiloh and the puppies, future service dogs ready for their first nights sleep!

Introduction: ECAD is Back and Ready to Blog
Welcome back! It has been a while since we blogged last, and we have missed our loyal followers, but we are back and ready to blog. For those who are joining us for the first time, the intent of ECAD's blog is to be; (1) Informative, (2) Supportive, (3) Resourceful, as well as provide awareness to all. We have compiled a list of topics that we would like to cover throughout the year, however, your feedback and suggestions are encouraged!
To maintain the integrity of this blog, below are some ground rules:
1) Respect the opinions of others
2) No foul language
3) Remain positive
4) Be proactive, not reactive
5) Knowledge is power, we will use our knowledge to provide awareness
With the formalities done, let's introduce the faces behind the text. Lee is a retired police officer, an advocate, and a client of ECAD. Lee is the proud owner of Brady, a 2 year old male golden retriever, who has proudly been serving her since 2011. Lee will be maintaining the blog and the information posted along side of Carrie. Carrie works in Fund Development, Marketing & HR as well as maintaining social media. Together we will keep the blog moving, monitoring that is remains positive, and stays focused on the initial intent.
