Gucci

Armani took a trip to the home depot this past week and seemed to be unfazed by anything going on around him, he was focused and responsive to his handler.  His home handlers find him to be a very sweet boy. He is doing Look (zooming in on an object) Get it (getting the object) and Hold( is up to 20+ seconds. Is very responsive to drop it command and is doing on his own. Go Armani!

Dior was off to NYC with his home handler for the weekend and did very well on the train ride into the city, he was not overly distracted by the hustle and bussle of the city and behaved very well in the apartment. Dior went for a 7 mile jog in Central park and loved it. Dior had no reaction to the horses, other dogs or much else in the park. What a fun weekend.

Dior took a trip to the Danbury mall and was very well behaved throughout the trip.  Lunch in Ruby tuesdays had Dior quietly laying under the table and showing no intrest in food. Dior helped in the jean shopping and carried a bag of three jeans up to  the counter without dropping them. Dior threw away a plastic bad with ease (up, reach, drop it). The only hiccup in an almost perfect outing was barking at a store front that was displaying wigs in the window ( I think I would have barked too)  and was easily redirected.

Lots of updates for the past two weeks on the progress of our service dogs in training!

Bauer 's home handler report that he is "Great "! He will self correct himself when getting off point, he gets along really well the other pet in the house a "puggle". He is very good when meeting new people and new dogs , he did find the toilet bowl and mistook it for a giant water bowl,  he will be working on correcting that!

Boone is doing much better about sleeping through the night without crying which is a huge improvement for him. He has been much better about grabbing for things and is very good about meeting new people and greeting them properly.

Ace's home handler's report that he is doing very well in the home. Ace does not react to the handlers cat and when charged by an off leash dog had no reaction. He rode an elevator with no issues and accepted corrections without issue!

Hansen's home handler reports that he played well with the family but was spooked by the garage door opening

Autism Service Dog

Autism service dogs protect there handler from causing harm to themselves. Children with autism often experience sensory overload in different environments and can sometimes deal with their anxiety by hitting themselves. Autism service dogs are trained to sense a shift in mood or behavior. By pressing into the child or even laying on top of him or her, the dog's body weight acts as a stabilizing and calming force, distracting the autistic child from harming him or herself.
