Russel jr report! We have arrived at the United Rentals conference in Indy land of the Colts. At the Hyatt people were happy to see us, groups gathered and the hotels was nicely furnished. Oh one more detail the restaurant we had dinner in rotated floor on the 14 fl so the view was something. Im starting to like this trip thing! :) Russ Jr

Russ Jr goes to the United Rentals, Inc. Annual Meeting and Show!

Russ jr is heading to the United Rentals, Inc. Annual Meeting and Show, United Rentals is a sponsor of ECAD and ECADs Project Heal Program. Follow his adventures this weekend as he travels to the show with Lu and Dale , Luis and Tuesday and other members of the ECAD team.

Ok.. someone explain this flying business. It was said we were flying to Indianapolis, I was very excited then next thing I know I am under the seat in front of me, I am not sure what happened next because I fell asleep. Not sure what humans call flying but I had a different image in my head {flapping paws furiously }. Oh well maybe on the way home Lu and I can fly my way. Paws crossed she agrees. We will miss you Rosie

It is with a very heavy heart that we announce the passing of Rosie. Rosa Parks was a faithful companion to owner Dale Picard as well as being the first judicially approved courtroom dog in New York State. Rosie was with Dale and Lu at the time of her passing. She will be missed but never forgotten. Cross that Rainbow Bridge Rosie ! Sky is waiting for you !

Happy Birthday Lu!

Today is one of our founder's Lu Picard's, Birthday. Lu and her Husband Dale founded ECAD/Project Heal in 1995. In that amount of time Lu has changed and some cases saved hundreds of lives with her incredible service dogs.

Not only is Lu a

skilled dog educator she is one of the kindest most sincere people you will ever meet. Lu defines the meaning of humanitarian and works tirelessly to help anyone who she can reach both in and out of the training center.

Happy Birthday to you Lu Picard, you are truly a rare and special person! We all Love you and admire your life's work greatly!

Westminister Kennel Club to Help ECAD's Project Heal

The Westminster Kennel Club and the New York Academy of Art have selected the winning artwork to represent the 137th annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. 

A collection of oil-on-porcelain miniature portrait paintings by Robert Clark and Richard Moss won the art contest, sponsored for the third consecutive year by the New York Academy of Art. The Committee also named four finalists. This image, which includes Malachy, the Pekingese that captured the 2012 Best In Show title, and Sensation, Westminster's mascot and logo model Pointer, as well as a number of other breeds, will be utilized in a poster and in other club materials to promote the 2013 show. 

Robert Clark is a graduate of the New York Academy of Art with a Masters in painting (MFA 1992). Richard Moss studied mosaic in Italy. For over twenty years, Clark and Moss have been working collaboratively to create both functional and decorative figurative art: easel-work and surfaces in stone, glass and ceramic. 

Together they have been recognized by the National Endowment for the Arts, the White House Millennium Project, museums and prestigious private collectors. Their published work includes luxury residences and notable hotels and restaurants. For a decade they have been reviving kiln-fired oil-on-porcelain in the style of 18th and 19th century Sevres and KoniglichePorzellanManufaktur (KPM). The artists' studio is at their farm in Ocala, FL, where they breed horses from the Royal Dutch Stud Book of the Netherlands and German riding ponies.

Proceeds from sales of the poster will go to benefit the Project HEAL program offered by Educated Canines Assisting with Disabilities (ECAD). The mission of ECAD, a 501(c)(3) charity based in Dobbs Ferry, NY, is to train and place Assistance Dogs to help people with disabilities gain independence and mobility. Project HEAL honors and empowers Wounded Warriors by providing specially trained Service Dogs to increase independence and make a difference in their lives.
